STUDYING IN MATURE AGE

Honestly, studying in mature age is something I never dream before, especially taking LLB Course. I cannot imagine that I have to attend the class again and study until late at night as I did when I was getting my first degree long years ago. Luckily, I have been offered to do my study together with my office mate, so I felt a little bit better. But having a thought that we might be the mature students in the class made me so nervous and could not sleep for several nights. I know it could be a very difficult adjustment for me because I had been working for thirteen years now and yet I have to study again. However, I kept telling myself that there was no limitation of age to study and I hope that I could be a good model to my children.

First day at the Faculty of Law of UKM, I felt something was not right when people around kept staring at me and my friend. I could feel that they might think that we were not the students just like them because of the appearance and the age. It took for several weeks to make an adjustment with all of the situations. Finally, thank to Allah we can go through it and we did pass in our first year exam...

In this semester, I am so excited because I can take an English course for law student. I can see how English is so important and very useful for us to apply it in legal phrases, reading case law, statutes even in the tutorial class where we were supposed to deliver our speech in English in the matter of presenting our assignments and discussions. I also never realized before that reading and learning English could be fun when it done with games and activities until my English lecturer practiced it in class. I hope that I can learn more from the next lectures so I can improve my English in a better way to help me in my study. I certainly know that the success is not easy to reach but I will try my best.
